- Kenneth Joel Zogry
Mr. Zogry is a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in American History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds an MA in American History from UNC-CH, and a BA in Political Science from North Carolina State University. In 2002 he taught North Carolina History, 1865 to the Present at UNC-CH, and in 2003 he taught the graduate seminar Introduction to Museology in the Public History Program at NCSU.
Mr. Zogrys seventeen-year career in the museum field includes serving as assistant curator of Old Salem, in Winston-Salem, NC, and as curator of the Bennington Museum in Bennington, Vermont. He is certified with the State of North Carolina to write nominations for the National Register of Historic Places, and he has developed interpretive and historic furnishings plans for a number of historic house museums from North Carolina to Maine.
Mr. Zogry has written more than a dozen articles and reviews on topics of history, architecture, and decorative arts for such publications as The Journal of Early Southern Decorative Arts, The North Carolina Historical Review, The Magazine Antiques, and the News & Observer. He contributed three biographical essays to The North Carolina Century (UNC Press: 2002), and is the author of two books: The Universitys Living Room: A History of the Carolina Inn (UNC: 1999); and The Best the Country Affords: Vermont Furniture, 1765-1850 (The Bennington Museum: 1995), which won the 1995 Charles F. Montgomery Award.
